FALCONS CHOOSE MORA AS NEW HEAD COACH
Jay Glazer, of SportsLine.com, reports two sources close to San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Jim Mora Jr. have told SportsLine.com that the Atlanta Falcons have offered him their new head coaching job late Thursday, Jan. 8. Barring a breakdown in contract talks a deal should be in place this evening and an announcement should come Friday, Jan. 9. Mora interviewed last week then was flown out again for a second round this week. He also interviewed for the Chicago Bears' head coaching job and was said to be in the Oakland Raiders' race but one source close to the coach said he canceled his Friday interview.
